Position Statements and Guidelines
The Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council is actively involved in contributing to national nursing and health policy issues, and providing information and resources to stakeholders.
As part of publicizing its views on national nursing, midwifery and health related issues, the ANMC produces Position Statements which are developed in consultation with the Nursing and Midwifery Regulatory Authorities in each state and territory. From time to time, Position Statements may be developed jointly with other nursing organizations. The Position Statements provide the profession with a national regulatory perspective which may assist in influencing nursing and health care policy being developed at state/territory and national levels.
As part of its commitment to providing information and resources to stakeholders, various Guidelines have been developed on a range of topics. These provide up to date information from a national regulatory perspective.
Guidelines and Position Statements are reviewed and updated regularly and are available free of charge.
If you have any feedback on the existing position statements that you would like to provide (have you found them useful/clear enough?), please send to Denise Ryan, Professional officer – Research and Policy: dryan@anmc.org.au
