MIGRATION AGENTS

AGENTS AREA - now available via the On-Line Application Form on the quick links section of the ANMAC home page

The International section of the Australian Nursing & Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC) is an assessing authority for the Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC). The ANMAC conducts an assessment of Registered Nurses and Midwives who intend to migrate to Australia under the General Skilled Migration category. The ANMAC has been authorised by DIAC to undertake these assessments. Through this process the ANMAC determines whether nurses and midwives are suitable for migration or whether they may need to undertake further education in order to be eligible for migration in the stated skill category.

The ANMAC itself has no legal authority to:

  • Register nurses and midwives. This is a function of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Employ nurses and midwives in Australia.
  • Deal with immigration requirements other than Migration Skills Assessment.
  • Advise on visa or immigration matters.
  • Process applications for nursing and midwifery training in Australia.
  • Provide continuing medical education courses or other medical training.

Our office is located in Canberra - Australia and all business is conducted in this office.

Unfortunately priority processing cannot be given to any ANMAC skills assessment, and assessments will continue to be assessed in the order that they arrive at the ANMAC office. Please refrain from contacting the ANMAC office with requests for priority, as this will only further delay assessments. ANMAC assessing officers will be in contact as assessments progress. Alternatively, applicants can monitor the progress of their assessment by using their online access – emailed to them upon completion of the online assessment.

Please note that the time for an assessment to be completed is approximately 12 weeks. Your patience and understanding is appreciated. DIAC should be contacted directly if you have any concerns relating to your current or future visa options.
