National Accreditation Guidelines

The ANMAC accreditation process is intended as a collegial one, that is constructive and based on self assessment and peer review, ensuring public accountability and academic quality. The accreditation standards and criteria are comprehensive and include evidence guides which provide many examples of evidence that can be submitted in support of the application.

It is the ANMAC accreditation officers that implement the accreditation process. The role of the accreditation offficers includes management of the accreditation work program, implementing ANMAC policy and procedures, supporting the ANMAC Accreditation Committees, supporting ANMAC assessment panels and advising nursing and midwifery schools and other stakeholder groups on accreditation policy and procedures.

The ANMAC asks that institutions undergoing accreditation correspond with the acccreditation officers and not directly with ANMAC Accreditation Committees and assessment panel members.

ANMAC accreditation officers will provide as much assistance and advice as possible on the assessment process but education providers are solely responsible for their preparation for accreditation.

The National Guidelines below are in draft form only and are constantly being reviewed but are indicative of the process that needs to be followed when submitting documents relating to the accreditation of nursing and midwifery programs.
