Current Issues

  • ANMC appointed as independent Accreditation body

The Australian Nursing & Midwifery Council is currently restructuring the organisation following the decision of the Australian Health Workforce Ministerial Council (AHWMC) to appoint the ANMC as the professions' independent accrediting body under the new National Registration and Accreditation Scheme (NRAS) for Health Professionals, commencing 1 July 2010.

Considerable progress has been made in this process. The incumbent ANMC Board met on the 18 May 2010 and adopted a new constitution for the restructured organisation. ANMC has now changed its status from an Incorporated Organisation to a Company Limited by Guarantee.
